The continuous development of shipbuilding technology has led to significant changes in shipbuilding materials and ship design. The application of laser technology in shipbuilding has its own uniqueness, which is closely related to the processing and application characteristics of the ship itself and the characteristics of the laser manufacturing system.
Steel is the most common industrial material, and cutting of steel has many years of history and experience. However, ships are life-carrying tools, and the requirements for their manufacturing raw materials are very high. A little bit of skew or a small problem in the cutting of plates can lead to a disaster of a whole ship. Therefore, laser cutting machine with no influence on raw materials in cutting, high precision and high safety factor will soon become the mainstream of the whole shipbuilding sheet metal manufacturing industry.
At present, the ship industry hull plate parts undercutting methods mainly use flame cutting, plasma cutting, shear processing and laser cutting. Other cutting methods have many shortcomings compared to laser cutting. In the field of shipbuilding, laser cutting avoids the occurrence of uneven trimming quality caused by setting trimming allowance on the rib plate to ensure the assembly gap when plasma undercutting the rib plate and trimming it by hand. This reduces the workload of assembly, the assembly cycle, and the waste of material and labor costs.
The marine steel plate by laser cutting has good cut quality, good verticality of the cut surface, no hanging slag, thin oxidation layer, smooth surface, no secondary processing, can be directly welded, and small thermal deformation, high precision of curve cutting, reducing the coordination work time, and realizing the barrier-free cutting of high-strength ship plates. This provides a guarantee for the quality of raw materials in shipbuilding industry, thus reducing the workload of assembly, assembly cycle, and waste of material and labor cost.
