The industrial application prospect of laser manufacturing technology in the fields of national defense and aerospace is great, and it has the characteristics of high efficiency, low energy consumption, short process, good performance, digitalization and intelligence. In view of the present situation, China will continue to give full play to the advantages of laser manufacturing technology, change the current situation that key devices and technologies in China’s aerospace field mainly rely on imports, and finally form a new generation of laser manufacturing industry chain in China.
Combining laser welding technology with aviation manufacturing technology, as a mature technology, has become an important means of aviation light alloy connection, which plays an important role in the connection of structural parts and some engine parts in modern aviation manufacturing.
High Power Laser Welding
Titanium alloys are widely used in aircraft, and have changed from secondary load-bearing structural parts to main structural parts. Aluminum alloy is the main structural material of launch vehicles and various spacecraft. First, by comparing the traditional welding of aluminum alloy and titanium alloy with laser hybrid welding, it is highlighted that laser processing has the advantages of energy concentration, easy operation, high flexibility, energy saving and environmental protection, and high quality and efficiency.
Laser welding of aircraft alloy siding
Reasons for using filler wire welding: Aluminum and aluminum alloys have very low strength at high temperatures, and liquid aluminum has good fluidity, and the weld metal is prone to slump during welding.
Advantages: low seam precision requirements, high weld strength.
Material selection principle: the purity of pure aluminum welding wire is generally not lower than the chemical composition of the base metal, corresponding or similar to the base metal, and the content of corrosion-resistant elements (magnesium, manganese, silicon, etc.) is generally not lower than the base metal. When welding dissimilar aluminum materials, the welding wire should be selected according to the base material with high corrosion resistance and high strength.
High power laser cutting and drilling
Materials used for laser cutting in the aerospace industry include titanium alloys, nickel alloys, chromium alloys, aluminum alloys, beryllium oxide, stainless steel, molybdenum titanate, plastics and composite materials. Laser cutting can be used to process aircraft skin, honeycomb structure, frame, wing bin, tail panel, helicopter main rotor, engine case and flame tube, etc. Laser cutting generally uses continuous output lasers YAG and CO 2 lasers, and high repetition frequency CO 2 pulsed lasers are also useful.
